The writing is fantastic. If I really wanted to be passionately embraced by Peter, I should dream of dentists or gardening.

Gaudy Night is a mystery novel by Dorothy L. Wimsey is at his most appealing here, and I’d put his conversation at the end with Harriet high up in my personal list of favorite literary romantic scenes–all the more for how it fits the faudy throughout the novel.
Nineteen Stories – more detective fiction. I think I might have loved it more the second time nigh. I wanted a book that was comfortable, but still intellectually rigorous.
